The Department of Labor is continuing its mission to provide guidance to employers on legal matters in the employment context. In April 2018, it issued three additional opinion letters regarding compensation for travel time, pay for rest breaks related to an employee’s break and garnishments of lump-sum payments.

The opinion letter program allows employers to ask about particular laws given a particular set of circumstances.
